One of the photos on display in the Dougherty House kitchen shows a young girl and her grandmother standing and sitting in front of a one-room cedar shake house. The young girl is 5-year-old Seena Sauntine Ballard. Her grandmother is Louisa Henrietta Offtenbinger Ballard. Milo Curtis Clark built the house in Novelty in 1906. Melissa Clark and her mother, who still lived in this house (much updated) in 2006, supplied this information. This photo was taken in 1909. |
